New Cursor Theme!!!

By TheeMahn March 21st, 2014, under Linux Theme, ultimate edition

I was browsing gnomelook.org and found that a user had extended the Ultimate Edition Cursor pack and added the colors of Green and Orange. I pulled them down and extended / debianized the Ultimate Edition Cursor pack.

A long time since I visited this site. I am going to start with UE 3.5 theme. I will have to go back hit 3.4, 3.3, 3.2 and 3.1. Delegation of authority would be nice right about now. Unreleased to the general consensus at this time.

Merry Xmas from the UE Team

By TheeMahn December 17th, 2010, under Linux Theme, ultimate edition

It appears I will not have the time to drop a Ultimate Xmas Edition this year, you can read why here. Don’t count me out yet, but it does look grim. I did not want to leave you high and dry we will have at the very least Christmas theme:

Cowboy created the wallpaper. Do not confuse it from 2009’s theme many enhancements, I am sure you will appreciate. tuxramone for caps I modded ;) The icon set is straight off the hook, thanks Fred McKinney.

I wrote 2 relatively large scripts that automates the building of debs including lintian the resulting deb before moving it to the appropriate folder. Once successfully built the other script signs the deb and builds a Package.gz. No more spending weeks working on the repositories ;) The next beast will be Ultimate Edition’s repositories. I have also re-built all themes, I am sure you will be happy with the layout. I have created a deb that will automatically add the repository and gpg key.

No more:

I can’t remember how many times I have asked for someone sometimes 50 or so at a time to take away from me controlling the repositories (I am not bulletproof and have many jobs). Once they understood a mistake and you will screw up 100 thousand+ ppls computers. They instantly decline. I have now automated it. Let’s remove the human element of mistake, let processors make it ;) I will not unleash it until throughly tested. Do you think for one second I will not publish the source? I am all about open source and Linux progression. I have taught a majority of my competitors, ask me if I care. Keep on rockin’ the free world.

I will explain in greater detail after I have it up and running full tilt. Mr. Breeg has been on my rump to bring Ultamatix to par. This will be one less thing for me to worry about. How about automation of Ultamatix ;) We will see. I lost alot of sleep on this one.

If you are a brave soul and want to test it please bare in mind I am still working on it & package breakage may result the following package will add the repository. Select origin in Synaptec and select the theme linux repo, for now restricted to members of this site only:

I am sorry previous registered users here will have to re-register.

Blue Deck Theme pack

By TheeMahn November 30th, 2010, under Linux Theme, ultimate edition

I typically do not have time to drop themes. It shows 6 months since last post ;) I have made 3 since then & not the time to publish them. I really need someone to take on this side of what I do. Let me make O/S’s someone else publish themes I Debianize. In due time I am sure. On to the details…

Blue deck theme was originally written by James Hardy, modified by JohnnyG. I have written multiple emerald themes to co-inside with the theme. Cowboy designed the “Winging it” wallpaper. This will most likely be the default theme in Ultimate Edition Lite, currently unreleased to the public.

I am sorry, I can get into only so much details. I have a job to do and it is not making themes ;) Perhaps what we have here is a bit premature. I suggest a check on the repository before installing, took me 6 months to update this blog, we have 11 servers I am currently contending with.

Blue Deck Theme Pack Contents:

  • 1 GTK2 Theme
  • 1 Metacity Theme
  • 1 Emerald Theme (7 subsets)
  • 1 Icons set – scalable
  • 1 cursor set
  • 1 font (will not be default in lite)

This theme pack is not currently available on the repository.

Onux Theme

By TheeMahn July 9th, 2010, under Linux Theme, ultimate edition

This is work in progress. It is not done, I still have to make a CSS file for firefox to make things more visible / clear. Depending on which theme is voted into office, feel free to cast your vote there. Comments are welcome.

Cowboy created the default background (this is also subject to change & requires the Ultimate Edition 2.8 to render properly) Onux theme was originally written by bvc, I have modded just the orange (7 in total) and Debianized it. The icon set is from our Lava theme, Magiconed to make it match the themes colors.

Onux Theme Pack Contents:

  • 14 GTK2 Themes
  • 14 Metacity Themes
  • 14 Emerald Themes
  • 19,000+ Icons 16X16, 22, 24, 32, 64, 96, 128 & 256

This theme pack is not currently available on the repository.

Ultimate Edition 2.8 Theme

By TheeMahn July 3rd, 2010, under Linux Theme, ultimate edition

This is work in progress. It is not done, I still have to make a CSS file for firefox to make things more visible / clear.

Cowboy created the default background, many however are involved through out the theme. JohnnyG created the wallpaper used in KVirc. I have used the Icon set from the Lava theme, previously created. The GTK theme is far from done. Some of the other wallpapers were created by Admin-Amir.

Ultimate edition 2.8 Theme Pack Contents:

  • 1 GTK2 Theme
  • 1 Metacity Theme
  • 1 Emerald Theme
  • 19,000+ Icons 16X16, 22, 24, 32, 64, 96, 128 & 256
  • 11 Wallpapers
  • 1 Compiz splash
  • 1 Compiz skydome
  • 1 Screensaver

This theme pack is not currently available on the repository.

I suggest reading the official page for UE themes before downloading.

Ultimate Edition 2.6 Theme

By TheeMahn April 21st, 2010, under Linux Theme, ultimate edition

I am thinking of releasing this gem (Ultimate Edition 2.6 Theme), as well as simultaneously releasing all Ultimate Edition themes. Only because I had to rebuild each of them thanks to lucid’s new feature Plymouth and to provide backward compatibility. I have taken a minute or 2 to set up a repository just for themes. Education is coming. I hope you can see where I am going.

I will not say what I am doing; ppl tend to expect the highest of me. Since this site sees the lowest traffic of all, I will tell you because I can, huge things are coming. You can say you read it here first. I wish for 1 sec you sit in my shoes. Last post here a day before xmas last year. Let’s change this up ;)

#This will seem cryptic to most people I add / change portions of this text file based on what I am trying
to accomplish at the time. I am not afraid to search through this text file to find relevant information
of what I want to accomplish. Consider this file a blast of memories of TheeMahn & what I have to change
etc. to accomplish sometimes the same task. Many commands you will find in this text file are very
powerful and are not to be taken lightly. All tasks I preform are now done as “root”, you will not get a
are you sure it just does as asked. I use this method, because I am confident in my skills and do not
want to be bothered by questions such as are you sure? If I wasn’t I would not have asked. We begin…

The custom debs I have written to automate the process:

ultimate-edition-customizations-0.3.0_all.deb
ultimate-edition-2.6_all.deb

ultimate-edition-customizations-0.3.0_all.deb does what it says customizes the distro mainly the /etc/skel currently adds compiz fusion to startup and enables it so if you have a compatible video card it will initiate on boot up. It also sets in my compiz settings which are all random so you get to see all the animations. It is quite the piece of work.

ultimate-edition-2.6_all.deb it installs all the software used in Ultimate Edition 2.6. This has squat to do with a theme… The end results, education.

Lava Theme

By TheeMahn December 24th, 2009, under Linux Theme

I thought I would toss together a “Hot” theme; have some Lava…

The lava “effect” I created in gimp. The icons I created for the most part; I did have a base of 48 by Fred McKinney which I have turned into overall 19,000+ in gimp and downsized the resolutions in Phatch a powerful tool & a smart author. The GTK uses the "Ubuntu looks" engine is is color changeable.

The Icon pack is the largest Icon pack I have seen ever on the net. It has 491 mimes, this means when you are browsing your files and look at a spreadsheet file the icon will be a spreadsheet. I intend to make the icons the most complete set on the net, if they are not already. Eventually, all icons will be in SVG format to reduce size & add full scalability. Cursor theme is Chrome Glass by fnaax.

Lava Theme Pack Contents:

  • 3 GTK2 Themes (Red, Green & Blue)
  • 3 Metacity Themes (Red, Green & Blue)
  • 3 Emerald Themes Red, Green & Blue)
  • 19,000 Icons 16X16, 22, 24, 32, 64, 96, 128 & 256
  • 2 Wallpapers
  • To ensure you always get the newest version please use our repository.
